Amazing Song with very straight forward Lyrics hits the right notes.
‘Poster Boys’ is inspired from a real life incident about three porters who are mistakenly featured on a vasectomy/sterilization advertisement poster released by the government’s health department.
The Poster Boys Anthem is a dynamic and hard-hitting number dealing with the struggle of Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Shreyas Talpade as they fight against the Govt. due to foul play and injustice burdened upon them. The lyrics perfectly portray the trio’s ‘Nanga Andolan’ against the government and intents to assert the functioning of the ‘sarkar’.
Shreyas Talpade himself, has worked hard, to make the song sound, the way it is. It’s all in all, a great team effort and Sonny Ravan couldn’t be happier to start his Music directorial Journey with the Poster Boys Anthem.
The song is full of energy and the traditional Nagada beats make the song unique. The lyrics start with the words, ‘Suna hai ke sarkar Ghoda bech ke sota hai’, and continue, to describe the journey of a protestor in the film.
The Anthem, is the first Mainstream Song, written and composed by Pune based Rapper, Sonny Ravan and mastered by Abhishek Ghatak.
The anthem is sung and sound engineered by Shree D, who was the voice of Ranbir Kapoor for the title track ‘Besharam’. Shree D’s voice adds the josh in the Poster Boys Anthem and uplifts the enthusiasm of the protestors. Shree D also sang in a female’s voice for Arjun’s (Shreyas Talpade) funny ringtone in the film. Shreyas Talpade himself, wrote the ringtone dialogue ‘Arjun pick the phone.., yaad teri aayi toh kiya tujhe phone’, which he and his other two friend dance to,every time the phone rings.
‘Sonny Ravan’ who was recently also featured in biggest Hip Hop Album of 2017 ‘The Rising – Mixtape Vol. 1’ launched by the Queen of Hip Hop ‘Hard Kaur’ has also penned lyrics for the Akshay Kumar starrer ‘The Shaukeens’.
Shree D, a very talented singer, producer & Composer, got his first break as singer with Red Chillies for ‘Always kabhi kabhi’, and continued his music journey with movies like Ugly, Love You Soniye and many more. He would also be heard in the upcoming film ‘Fukrey 2’. Sonny Ravan and Shree D together have co-written and sung for films like Bheja Fry 2, Satya 2, Youngistan and few other Bollywood films in the near past.
Released on 8th September 2017, ‘Poster Boys’ is a Hindi remake of the 2014 Marathi hit ‘Poster Boyz’ and marks the directorial debut of Shreyas Talpade and a come back of the Deol brothers in the lead role along with Shreyas Talpade himself and Samiksha Bhatnagar.
