Spread the love

Hi. I am back again this Friday with the review of one of most anticipated movies of this year, Bhoomi. Yes! This is the comeback film of Sanjay Dutt!

Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharad Kelkar and Shekhar Suman are also seen in pivotal roles.  Also seen is Sidhant Gupta in a supporting role, a TV actor (seen in Tashan-e-Ishq on Zee TV) who is marking his bollywood debut with Bhoomi.

The story is written by Sandeep Singh, who is also the co-producer of the film. The screenplay and the dialogues are written by Raaj Shandilyaa, who had earlier written the dialogues of  Welcome Back too.  Bhoomi is directed by Omung Kumar, who has given us masterpieces like Mary Kom and Sarbjit. The music of this film is handled by Sachin – Jigar.

Bhoomi is based on the bond between a father and a daughter. It’s wonderful to see Sanjay Dutt making a comeback with such a strong character and it gets even better to see that he does not shy away from playing his age.  Aditi Rao Hyadri,  is a great actress, and thankfully, this time she has gotten a role to prove her mettle. This would undoubtedly be her most memorable performance till date.  Shekhar Suman is seen as Sanjay Dutt’s buddy , and his portrayal of the character is indeed loveable. Sharad Kelkar seems to be emerging as the new baddie of  bollywood and boy, he is really good at this !

However, the way the story unfolds gets predictable at times. The dialogues could have been a little better, and would have lifted  the performances to a notch even higher. The best part of the film is , the way Sanjay Dutt and Aditi Rao Hydari avenge themselves. The things that they do, are not what you get to see in movies these days. 10 on 10 to the makers to have thought of such unusual and gripping set of events.

There are 6 songs in this film, all are well placed. Trippy trippy is already very popular amongst the masses because of its music and Sunny Leone of course (this song has been trimmed by the censor board)

This is a film that will leave its impression in your mind long after you are out of the hall. I will give 3 cheers to Sanjay Dutt, 3 cheers to Aditi Rao Hydari for their outstanding performances and 4 out of 5 stars to Bhoomi. Watch it

Stay tuned for more updates on
